In the true Chiltern tradition, Roger’s Bodger’s Barley Wine is a beer steeped in craftsmanship, history, and friendship. Originally inspired by our founder Richard Jenkinson’s award-winning Bodger’s Barley Wine (first brewed in 1990), this special edition celebrates 35 years of friendship with legendary beer writer Roger Protz, and 45 years of brewing at The Chiltern Brewery.

Brewed with the finest Maris Otter malt, revered for its deep chestnut hue and full, rounded malt body, and delicately balanced with Fuggles and Goldings hops for a gentle resinous spice. To mark this anniversary edition, we’ve added Endeavour hops, lending a subtle blackcurrant note that complements the warming richness of this traditional English barley wine.

Bottle conditioned, unpasteurised, and suitable for vegetarians and vegans, this beer is a living, maturing creation - best enjoyed slowly, by a winter fire, as the flavours deepen with age.
