Our award-winning stout for the festive season

Rich, dark and full of seasonal character, Glad Tidings is our much-loved Winter Stout, brewed for the colder months and the Christmas season.

Four carefully selected malts combine with spices and fruit to create a complex, beautifully balanced stout, with roasted malt and chocolate character, warming spice and a distinctive note of orange.

Smooth, rich and wonderfully drinkable, Glad Tidings has become a firm fixture in our winter beer calendar — returning each year for a limited time.

A Chiltern Christmas favourite

There is plenty of history behind this particular bottle.

Glad Tidings has been part of our winter brewing tradition for more than 20 years and, over that time, has become one of our most decorated seasonal beers.

Its distinctive recipe brings together Pale, Crystal, Chocolate and Roast Barley malts, with Bramling Cross hops, spices and fruit. The result is a jet-black stout with layers of roasted malt, chocolate, orange and warming winter spice.

Brewed here in the Chiltern Hills and released only for the winter season, it makes a fitting beer for Christmas gatherings, evenings by the fire or simply enjoying something darker as the nights draw in.

Quantities are limited each year, so once it's gone, it's gone.

An award-winning history

Glad Tidings has collected an impressive run of awards and recognition over the years, including four Great Taste Awards and medals at both regional and national SIBA competitions.

It was also selected by renowned beer writer Jeff Evans as one of his World Top 10 Christmas Beers in 2011 (http://www.insidebeer.com/articles/20111130), before being named a Beer of the Month by Drink Britain in 2012.(http://www.drinkbritain.com/drinks-of-the-month)

Among its competition successes:

Great Taste Awards: 2012, 2015 & 2016
