Home Grown is a celebration of British brewing – a 5.6% India Pale Ale bringing together one of Britain’s great beer styles with Buckinghamshire-grown barley and a new generation of British hops.

A modern British IPA, brewed in the Chiltern Hills by a brewery making English ales since 1980.

Home Grown brings together Pale Malt regeneratively grown barley on the Waddesdon Estate, Caragold and Wheat malts with five British hop varieties – Olicana, Harlequin, Ernest, Eureka & Jester.

IPA may have its roots in British brewing, but its modern revival has been shaped largely by the bold, hop-forward beers of the USA, Australia and New Zealand.

Home Grown brings the story back to Britain. A new generation of British hops now offers some wonderfully vibrant character of its own, and this beer gives them centre stage – a fresh take on a beer style Britain first gave to the world.

Tasting Notes

Expect vibrant notes of pineapple, peach and blackcurrant, alongside citrus, apricot and berry fruit.

The fruit character is balanced by our locally grown malt, giving the beer a soft, bready malt backbone and a clean bitterness.

Home grown from grain to glass

The barley at the heart of Home Grown is grown regeneratively on the Waddesdon Estate, just a few miles from our brewery.

Combined with British speciality malts and a new generation of UK-grown hops, it makes Home Grown a particularly fitting beer for us to brew here in the Chiltern Hills.

Tradition, without standing still

We've been brewing in the Chiltern Hills since 1980 – long before the modern craft beer movement. Our brewing is firmly rooted in that heritage, but we've never stood still.

Home Grown is a natural continuation of that – a classic British beer style showcasing the flavour and character of a new generation of British-grown hops.
